Introduction

ELEVATION

Located at 600- to 7000 feet above sea level, there is less oxygen in the atmosphere. Until you are acclimated be aware that the elevation will impact your cardio.

If you are visiting from a lower elevation be aware of the signs of elevation sickness, as anyone of any fitness level can be effected and it can comes on suddenly. Vigilance can make the difference between walking out on your feet or being taken out in a medical rescue.

SUN & HYDRATION

Conditions in the canon are arid and the sun packs a punch due to less atmosphere. Make sure you wear sunscreen and bring more water than you think you need. If you are wondering, “Am I drinking enough water?” you probably aren't. In hot weather it is especially important to bring excess water and electrolytes are recommended. It is very easy to experience heat exhaustion, know the symptoms and listen to your body for signs you may be getting too hot or dehydrated.
